Why we’re Sweating with Pride
Join the Victorian LGBTIQA+ Commissioner’s ‘Equaliteam’ for the Sweaty Pride Challenge!
All are welcome—whether you’re LGBTIQA+, an ally, questioning or somewhere in between—if you share our values of inclusion, community, want to get a bit more movement into your life and raise funds for Rainbow Giving!
The Sweaty Pride Challenge is all about moving our bodies in whatever way feels right for us—walking, rolling, stretching, dancing, online yoga, laps at the pool, chasing after your dog/kid/housemate… it all counts.
Our goal? To support and inspire each other to meet our Sweaty Goals, big or small. We’ll be swapping sweaty selfies, scenic views, battle stories and humble brags in equal measure, including on the Commissioners instagram. Expect encouragement, celebration, and a touch of silliness.
This is a body-positive, ability-positive team, which means:
• There’s no “right” way to participate—move how you move
• We celebrate all bodies, all energy levels, and all forms of motivation (or lack thereof)
• Rest days are real and respected
• We know that movement and wellbeing look different for everyone
So if you’re ready to raise a sweat and some community spirit—come join the Equaliteam!
Our Impact
So far in this year’s challenge we have…
Supported the delivery of an LGBTQIA+ youth empowerment workshop by Minus18 for more than 30 queer youth.
Our Sweat
Our 14 Sweaty Bettys have logged a total of 3686 minutes so far!
